License Policy

A complete breakdown of what each license tier covers, with real-world examples so you know exactly what you are buying.

1. Refund Policy

All licenses are delivered as instant digital downloads. Because beat files cannot be "returned," we do not offer refunds once download access has been granted. The policy below explains what is covered and what is not for each tier.

Basic License

  • No refunds after download.
  • Technical issues (corrupt file, wrong beat) resolved within 14 days.
  • Duplicate charges refunded if reported within 14 days.
ExampleYou purchase a Basic license and immediately realize you wanted WAV quality instead. Because the MP3 has already been downloaded, the purchase is final. You may upgrade to WAV by paying the difference at any time.

WAV License

  • No refunds after download.
  • Corrupt or incomplete files replaced within 14 days.
  • Duplicate charges refunded if reported within 14 days.
ExampleYou buy a WAV license but your DAW reports the file is unreadable. Contact support within 14 days with your order receipt and we will re-issue the files or issue store credit.

Unlimited License

  • No refunds after download.
  • Missing stems or corrupt archives replaced within 14 days.
  • Duplicate charges refunded if reported within 14 days.
ExampleYour Unlimited download only contains the WAV and MP3, but the trackout stems folder is empty. Email support with a screenshot of the archive and we will send the missing stems directly.

Exclusive License

  • No refunds after contract execution and file delivery.
  • Contract disputes handled case-by-case within 14 days of signing.
  • If the beat is incorrectly still listed after your purchase, you are entitled to a full refund or a replacement beat of equal value.
ExampleYou sign the Exclusive agreement and receive the files, but 48 hours later the beat is still visible in the store. That is a breach of the exclusivity guarantee. We will immediately remove it and offer you a 20% discount on your next exclusive purchase as an apology.

2. Exclusivity

Exclusivity determines whether other artists can continue to license the same beat after your purchase. This is the single biggest difference between lease tiers and an Exclusive license.

Basic License

Non-exclusive. Other artists may license the same beat before or after your purchase. The beat remains in the store indefinitely.

ExampleYou license a beat with a Basic MP3 license for your demo. Three months later, another artist releases a song using the same beat. Both releases are valid because the beat was never exclusive.

WAV License

Non-exclusive. Same as Basic. Other artists can still license the beat. The beat stays in the store.

ExampleYou release a monetized track on Spotify using a WAV license. Another artist buys a Basic license for the same beat the following week and uploads to SoundCloud. Both uses are legitimate.

Unlimited License

Non-exclusive. You receive unlimited distribution and monetization rights, but the beat is not exclusively yours. It remains available for others to license.

ExampleYou secure an Unlimited license and distribute your song to 50+ platforms with full monetization. Meanwhile, five other artists also have active licenses for the same beat. That is expected and permitted.

Exclusive License

Fully exclusive. The beat is removed from the store immediately upon purchase completion. No new licenses will be sold. Previous non-exclusive licenses remain valid, but no future licenses are granted.

ExampleYou purchase an Exclusive license. Within one business day the beat is removed from the store and marked as "Sold Exclusively." Any artist who bought a Basic or WAV license before you keeps their rights, but no one else can buy it from this point forward.

3. Producer Crediting

Crediting CMOBeatsRichie is required on most tiers. Proper credit protects both you and the producer, and it is how listeners find more beats. Below is exactly how to credit for each tier.

Basic License

Credit required. You must include "Prod. by CMOBeatsRichie" in the track title, description, or credits section of every release.

ExampleOn SoundCloud, your title should read: "My Song (Prod. by CMOBeatsRichie)". On YouTube, include the credit in the video description: "Produced by CMOBeatsRichie."

WAV License

Credit required. Same format as Basic. The credit must appear on every platform where the song is distributed, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal metadata.

ExampleWhen uploading via DistroKid, enter "CMOBeatsRichie" in the "Producer" or "Composer" field. If the platform does not have a producer field, append "(Prod. by CMOBeatsRichie)" to the track title.

Unlimited License

Credit required. Because this tier allows unlimited commercial use, proper credit is especially important. The credit must be visible on every release format.

ExampleYou release a music video on YouTube and a single on Spotify. The video description and Spotify credits must both list CMOBeatsRichie. Omitting credit violates the license terms and may result in license revocation.

Exclusive License

Credit optional. Unless your exclusive agreement explicitly states otherwise, you are not required to credit CMOBeatsRichie. However, many artists still choose to do so as a courtesy.

ExampleYou buy an Exclusive license and your agreement does not mention crediting. You release the song under your own brand with no producer attribution. That is fully within your rights. Alternatively, you may still choose to credit CMOBeatsRichie in the liner notes or description.

4. Streaming Rights

Streaming rights determine where you can upload your song and whether you can earn money from plays. The tier you choose controls which platforms are permitted and whether monetization is allowed.

Basic License

Non-commercial streaming only. You may upload to free platforms like SoundCloud, YouTube (without monetization), and Bandcamp (free tier). You may not distribute to Spotify, Apple Music, or any platform that generates revenue.

ExampleYou upload your song to SoundCloud and share the link on Instagram. You enable YouTube monetization and receive a Content ID claim. You must disable monetization or upgrade to WAV or higher.

WAV License

Streaming + monetization. You may distribute to all major platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube (with monetization), and TikTok. You may collect streaming revenue.

ExampleYou distribute your song via DistroKid to Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Streams generate royalties that go to your distributor account. You also upload the music video to YouTube and enable AdSense revenue. All of this is permitted under the WAV license.

Unlimited License

Unlimited streaming + monetization. Same platforms as WAV, but with no cap on streams or earnings. Ideal for artists expecting high volume or long-term catalog growth.

ExampleYour song goes viral on TikTok and racks up 10 million streams across platforms in three months. Because you have an Unlimited license, you do not need to worry about hitting a streaming cap or paying overage fees. All revenue is yours to keep.

Exclusive License

Unlimited streaming + full monetization + exclusive rights. You control all revenue streams with no restrictions. No other artist can compete with your version of the beat.

ExampleYou sign an Exclusive deal, release the song across every major platform, license it for a commercial, and collect publishing royalties, performance royalties, and sync fees. No one else can use the beat, so there is zero risk of a conflicting claim.
